Pier South is unique to other beachside resorts in San Diego because it is situated directly on the sand, allowing visitors to experience the coastline right outside of their hotel rooms. The only other hotel on the entire California coastline to achieve this would be the Hotel del Coronado.
Marriott’s line of hotels under the Autograph Collection appeal to the urbane traveler that desires a more luxe, less-beaten path. The term “beach-chic” was coined to describe Pier South’s metropolitan sensibilities brought to the beachside.
